Abstract The purpose of this study was to evaluate the validity and responsiveness of the new criterion-based test instrument test
for athletes with knee-injuries (TAK) which has been evaluated for reliability in an earlier study. Thirty-five subjects between
18 and 50 years were included in the study. They were all anterior cruciate ligament (ACL)-reconstructed and operated with
hamstrings graft. The test-occasions were at 4 and 8 months after operation. The content validity of the TAK was evaluated by determining floor and ceiling effects 4 and 8 months after ACL-operation. Floor or ceiling effects

2008 was a great summer for sports' fans. World records tumbled at the Beijing Olympics. Usain Bolt shattered both the 100m and 200m world records, knocking tenths of a second off each. People have been getting faster and faster over the last few decades, which made marathon runner Mark Denny, from Stanford University, wonder whether last century's massive increase in population could account for these dramatic improvements.

When it comes to remodeling our bones - an ongoing process of break down and renewal that goes on throughout adulthood - researchers have new evidence that our guts play a surprisingly important role. The findings point toward novel methods for increasing bone mass in patients with diseases characterized by impaired bone formation, including postmenopausal osteoporosis, according to the report in the November 26th issue of the journal Cell, a Cell Press publication.

Judith Sheft, associate vice president for technology development at NJIT, has been awarded funds from the New Jersey Commission on Science and Technology to assist faculty researchers with the most promising patentable inventions with funding grants of up to $50,000. The money, known as Gap grants, is designed to help bridge the chasm between an interesting idea and a commercial product. Sixteen grants have been made since 2006 to NJIT faculty researchers.
