New cross-Canada study in Journal of Clinical Oncology outlines risks A new cross-Canada study has found that breast and prostate cancer treatment can foster bone loss. In the online edition of the Journal of Clinical Oncology, the scientists explain how loss of bone mass might affect 46,000 people diagnosed with breast and prostate cancer each year* and place them at increased risk for osteoporosis and fractures.

A German Orthopaedic Hospital in Bahrain is expected to be operational during the first half of 2009. The hospital aims to offer first-class orthopaedic and rehabilitation medical services and will initially focus on surgical and conservative orthopaedics, sports medicine, internal medicine, radiology and pain therapy. The core medical team will be made up of German doctors and specialists in orthopaedics, surgery, anaesthesia and physiotherapy. (Source: Healthcare)
